Jennifer Williams

Attorney

Jennifer Williams has been a practicing attorney since 2007. She is admitted to the New York State Bar; the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York; and the Second Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.

Jennifer began her legal career as a public defender in Brooklyn, New York, with The Legal Aid Society, where she tried felony and misdemeanor cases. In 2012, she transitioned to practicing immigration law, with a focus on deportation-removal defense, where she represented noncitizens with criminal convictions; applicants for cancellation of removal; and asylum seekers. She has served as the Supervising Attorney for the Immigration Law Unit of the New York City Legal Aid Society, and as Legal Director for not-for-profits defending noncitizens facing deportation-removal.

For more than a decade, Jennifer has appeared before the U.S. Immigration Courts in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut; the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”); and with appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”). Jennifer’s lengthy legal career working with vulnerable clients ensures trauma-informed lawyering is always at the forefront of her attorney-client relationships.

Jennifer Williams graduated from New York Law School in 2006 and was the recipient of the Commencement Award for Motivation in Pursuing Public Interest Law, as well as the New York State Bar Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Outstanding Criminal Law Students Award in 2007. She was raised and lived for many years on the beautiful North Shore of Long Island. Today she lives with her family, in Connecticut. She is an experienced, skilled and compassionate advocate.
